Well, I started hearing about it years back, entertained the idea of joining a box a few times but never got around to it (I was intimidated) . Then CFA opened up just down the street from my house.. every day for about a year I would drive past it telling myself I would stop but never did. One day sporadically I just turned into the parking lot and went in. Andy greeted me at the door and gave me the low down… been here ever since… J

What is your athletic background? Never was much of a “sports” person. I‘ve spent time in the gym doing basic weight lifting here and there over the past 10 years. Maybe a year or two of running. Nothing consistent.

How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness? It’s totally different from traditional weight lifting. I can’t recall ever cursing, laughing, smiling, or sweating (all in the same day) as much when I went to the gym back in the day. My strength and core stability are

overall better balanced and I’m finding my stamina has increased as well. Not to mention I actually do squats now.. for whatever reason in the past I was always finding myself “busy” on legs days. Overall I have to say that this is the fittest I’ve ever been in my life, and it’s just the beginning for me.

Is there something you have done here that you never thought you could do? I have to mentally dig deep when doing CF. And it always surprises me how bottomless that hole is that I keep digging in. It’s a mental state of mind that I was not aware I was capable of being in. It’s addictive and very satisfying after the fact. Hard to explain that feeling but it’s something I think everyone here goes through and is a big part of what keeps them coming back. Facial expressions probably explain this “feeling” better than words. lol

What motivates/inspires you? Results, both mentally and physically. To see the results is always a plus, but to mentally know you’re capable of doing what you just did drives you to keep coming back for more.

Name one goal/personal achievement that you would like to achieve through CrossFit. Help others achieve their own goals. Then amount of time and advice others have given me since joining CF is something I would like to give back when I’m capable.
