How long have you been CrossFitting?  2 years in January.

What keeps you coming back?  The thing that keeps me coming back is getting to workout with my friends and the chance to get a little better then I was the day before. Every workout is another chance to kick the can proverbial can a little farther down the road.

How did you find CrossFit?

I remember seeing Crossfit on ESPN years ago and thinking how impossible it looked without even understanding anything about fitness. Fast forward to January 2017 and my wife suggested we try the foundations classes. When she suggested it I remembered seeing it on ESPN and thought there was no way I could do something like that. After feeling like I was not  going to survive the first day I physically felt better then I had in my entire life and have been here ever sense.

What is your athletic background?

I don’t really have much of an “athletic background.” My background prior to this was completely the opposite of athletic. I feel like I am building my athletic background right now.

How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness?

The biggest way Crossfit has changed me is that it has changed the way that I see myself. It’s more then just the amazing physical results, the biggest change has been that I have a lot more confidence and feel a lot less introverted.  There are very few things the outside world can do to me worse then one the 21-15-9 workouts or 7 minutes of burpees.

Is there something you have done here that you never thought you could do?

When I started I didn’t think I could do much of anything, so that list would ramble. I guess the answer to the question is pull ups. I never in a million years thought I would ever be able to do pull-ups going back to when I was in 2nd grade and we did the presidential fitness test and I was the only boy in the class who could not do one. I did my first pull up at CFA on 03/27/2017 (I keep a list, don’t judge me!). It kind of felt after that there wasn’t much I couldn’t learn to do eventually if I just worked toward it like I did with pull-ups.

What motivates/inspires you?

What motivates/inspires me most is my wife, son, family & friends telling me that they are proud of me. It also helps to look at old pictures of myself when I need a little extra motivation/inspiration. One of the biggest motivators is  being around people for an hour and fifteen minutes a day that have the same goal and sincerely want to see you succeed just as much as you them and want to see them succeed.

What goals have you achieved so far, and what else do you want to accomplish?

I have accomplished so many goals that are like milestones to look back on. I have a list of goals that I am working toward little by little.

Hobbies/interests outside of CrossFit?

Spending time with my family, tennis and looking up CrossFit stuff on the internet.

Enjoy the process of learning and getting better each and every day. Take every exercise piece by piece and don’t get discouraged, consistency equals results!
